| Sanjay Gandhi National Park |
Location : Borivli, Mumbai
Ecosystem : The park extending over an area of 103.09 sq. kms. Mixed deciduous forest with nearly 800 flowering species including trees, herbs and grasses. Animal life including 42 species of mammals besides about 250 species of birds covering migratory and a water birds, 38 species of reptile and nine species of amphibious.
ACTIVITIES |
- Walk in the forest (Buffer area) for a Nature Trail to understand the gift of flora and fauna.
- Visit to the Interpretation Center that explains the importance of the forest and its richness.
- A visit to the 2000 yrs. old 109 Kanheri caves chiseled into volcanic rock often known as Viharas.
- Nature games to clarify concepts of food chain and ecological pyramid.

All field trips are either one dayers or overnight trips which aim to bring about love for the outdoors through fascinating visits, demonstrations and hands-on experiments. We encourage curiosity, debates and explorative temperament amongst participant students. The programmes are designed to accommodate fun games, relays, outdoor games, treasure hunts, cultural evenings. |
